Durant le printemps dernier, Ariane a passé 3 mois en Turquie afin d’étudier auprès de maîtres de la musique turque, vers la fin de son séjour Yoni est venu la rejoindre pour 3 semaines. Ils ont profité de l’occasion pour faire quelques concerts dans la ville cosmopolitaine. Ihtimanska a eu beaucoup de succès avec son concert à la galerie l’Arthere dans le quartier de Kadiköy à Istanbul! Un acceuil chaleureux du public et du personnel. Nous avons maintenant bien hâte d’intégrer l’inspiration de ce voyage à notre deuxième album dont l’enregistrement sera prévu pour l’automne.

Par ailleurs, c’est avec grand bonheur que Ihtimanska fera partie de la programmation de Klezkanada cet été! (22-28 août). Nous allons performer et enseigner tout au long de la semaine en lien avec la spéciale thématique de la musique turque sur la musique klezmer. Au cours des années, Ihtimanska a été fortement influencé par l’enseignement des grands musiciens de de la faculté de Klezkanada, ça sera donc une unique opportunité de partager et collaborer avec la communauté klezmer.

During last winter and spring, Ariane spent 3 months in Turkey to study amongst masters of turkish music, near the end of her journey, Yoni joined her for 3 weeks. They benefit their visit by doing few concerts in the cosmopolitan city. Ihtimanska had a great success during their concert at the lovely gallery Arthere in Kadiköy, Istanbul! A warm reception from the audience and staff. We are now looking forward to include our inspiration of this wonderful trip into our upcoming second album recording this fall.

In other news, it is with great joy that Ihtimanska will take part of the programmation at Klezkanada this year! (August 22-28) . We will perform and teach thorought the week in relation with this year special theme of the influence of turkish music into klezmer. For many years, Ihtimanska was highly influenced by the teaching of great musicians from the faculty of Klezkanada, it will be an unique opportunity to share and collaborate with the klezmer opportunity.
